Main Contractor, Kelvin Group, is currently working on a project for Premier Burrell which will create 23 individually designed properties in Schaw House. Premier Burrell is transforming Schaw House, an historic 19th century, Gothic inspired mansion house set in the heart of Bearsden. Of the 23 properties available there are one-, two- and three-bedroom traditional apartments, duplex and mews houses within the conversion of this former hospital, latterly used as a retirement home.

Set in exceptional garden grounds in a Conservation Areas, Schaw House is surrounded by mature landscape and the majority of properties boast spectacular views south over the Glasgow skyline. Premier Burrell is a successful joint venture company that combines the skills and experience of both the Premier Property Group and The Burrell Company.

Schaw House is just one of Premier Burrell’s developments - further developments can be found in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen including the recently completed Ravelrig House, Balerno and The City, Aberdeen. Drumsheugh Gardens, Edinburgh and Elmhill House in Aberdeen are both currently for sale. Coming soon will be the Vienna Apartments, located in Glasgow City Centre providing 32 apartments, available for sale late 2006.

Schaw House was originally designed by Architect James Thomson of Baird & Thomson and originates from 1895 when the Category B Listed Schaw House was presented to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Of Tudor Gothic style, the building has pavilion ends dominated by a striking central tower.

Where possible the development will retain original features from this period which include ornate and detailed cornicing and original sash and case windows which flood the principal rooms with daylight. These traditional features will be complemented by the installation of high quality contemporary comforts to give purchasers a one-off desirable property in the heart of the much sough after Bearsden areas of Glasgow.

Bearsden Cross is a small but vibrant and bustling centre and has a good range of speciality shops such as jewellery, gift, art and craft shops whilst for everyday needs, there is a post office, greengrocer, baker and butcher. The shops and restaurants tend to be local independent family run business, several of which have won awards in national events. The town suits all tastes and has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Schaw House is a beautiful traditional refurbished property set in mature estate grounds accessed from Schaw Drive. Purchasers can enjoy the shared south facing gardens to the forefront of Schaw House, the centrepiece of this magnificent estate.

Premier Burrell employed award winning practice SMC Davis Duncan Architects to produce designs for Schaw House. The Practice has worked with Premier Burrell on a number of projects going back to the 1980s. Each property at Schaw House has an individual layout offering a mix of traditional and contemporary interiors whilst retaining much of the original character of the B Listed building. Careful attention to detail has been shown throughout and wherever possible original features have been restored. All properties have well designed quality kitchens and bathrooms and a variety of attractive floor coverings in the public and circulation areas. Some properties have separate utility rooms, off either the kitchen or the hall.

Kitchens have been supplied and fitted by leading manufacturer Commodore Kitchens. Designs incorporate Franke sinks and high quality appliances. Quality white bathroom suites complemented by Hansgrohe brassware are fitted throughout. Access to most apartments within Schaw House is gained through a grand entrance and apartments on upper floors are serviced by a lift or staircase. Also designed in to the plan are five duplex apartments, while the Gothic Tower boasts accommodation set over three levels, even featuring a roof garden.

Work on this impressive project is due to complete in January 2007 to a value of some £3.2M.
